Canter Magazine is on a publishing hiatus.

Why? A sluggish economy, slower-than-predicted subscription sales, and the rising cost of printing and postage have made this a tough business environment for any new independently published magazine. Given these realities, Canter has decided to temporarily suspend publication until April of 2004. This period of hiatus will give us time to reorganize our business, and to focus on more economically sustainable projects, such as our upcoming fiction and poetry anthology.

What can you do to help?
In the coming months, Canter Magazine will benefit from the support of subscribers and individuals who share our vision—that a magazine dedicated to the horse's place in the history and culture of our world fills an important void in the equestrian community and the publishing industry.

We will continue to sell back issues on our website. You can help support us by purchasing back issues, or by reserving a copy of our upcoming fiction and poetry anthology. You can also help support us by signing up to receive "Horse Books Monthly," our free ezine designed to keep you informed of the latest equestrian books.
